This sterling silver ring has been cuttlebone cast, which is a technique that involves cutting a shape into cuttlebone (the bony back plate of the cuttlefish) and pouring molten metal into the mold. The wavy texture of the ring comes from the pattern that is in the cuttlebone. This ring has been carved to mimic the top of a castle and finished with 24k gold using the ancient South Korean technique of Keum Boo. The ring has been patinated to a deep black. Size 6 1/4 (cannot be resized)

While the ring has been sealed for protection, it is possible (though unlikely) that steel can rust if exposed to moisture. Store the ring away from moisture and avoid submerging it in any liquids. Avoid contact with perfumes, sunscreens or perfumes. Occasionally rub a small amount of light oil into the surface.
