Luminous Pendant

This steel pendant captures the interaction of metal, texture, and light. Forged from steel and deeply etched using the artist’s Radical Etching technique, its tactile surface shows overlapping strata of pattern and depth—each layer exposing traces of movement and process. Multiple layers of gold leaf, bonded through the ancient Keum Boo technique, create rich variations of brilliance against the darkened steel—like light emerging through weathered stone. The result is both elemental and refined, evoking the mystery of geological formations or ancient relics rediscovered. Suspended from a 20-inch, 2 mm blackened sterling silver snake chain, this pendant embodies a dialogue between resilience and radiance—steel transformed by gold into something timeless and luminous. Care Instructions

While the jewelry has been sealed for protection, it is possible (though unlikely) that steel can rust if exposed to moisture. Store the jewelry away from moisture and avoid submerging it in any liquids. Avoid contact with perfumes, sunscreens or lotions. Occasionally rub a small amount of light oil into the surface.
