This monumental steel neckpiece centers on the Sankofa bird, the Ghanaian Akan symbol that teaches the importance of returning to the past to reclaim wisdom to guide the future. Deeply etched into the broad steel form, the bird carries a golden egg in its beak—a powerful emblem of knowledge, inheritance, and renewal. The darkened steel is enriched with fused bronze powders in shades of white bronze, rose bronze, and gold-toned bronze, creating passages of warmth and light that emerge from the surface like memories revealed through time.
